This is Us

We thought we'd do a kind of family profile thing. So, youngest first.....

Weirdo - Aged 6

Weirdo, or Agent Weirdo as he prefers to be known, is brilliant at Maths, reading and spelling. He loves science, especially electronics, and wants to know why dinosaurs became extinct. He likes history, especially Vikings, Romans and Egyptians. He is very funny generally, but his jokes are appalling - he gets this from his dad. He modestly admits to being good at everything. He loves to "play" guitar and harmonica and can eat with chopsticks. He has recently discovered the delights of jelly, having previously declared it Yuk!, but he does not eat it with chopsticks. He wants to discover if song lyrics can come true - particularly the one about us all living in a yellow submarine.

Minx - Aged 10

Minx is great at Maths, English and Science. She hates R.E and is honest enough to admit that she's rubbish at running. She enjoys reading, photography, art, history, drama, dancing and singing noisily. She started reading and had taught herself the 2, 3 and 5 times tables before she started pre-school. She told me at the start  of our journey into home education that she wanted to build a website dedicated to our experiences, so here it is. She also told me that when she's a grown-up she wants to own a chain of precisely 5 beauty spas. But she's changed her mind since then. Lots of times.

Fluff (AKA Mum) - Age Unknown

Mum is a Photographer and an Open University student who is interested in everything, especially Social Sciences. She has done courses in Child Development, Psychology, Sociology, Human Nutrition, Environmental Studies and Research Methods. She co-founded an organisation called Medway Eyes which promotes the arts in Medway. She is good at Maths and English. She loves writing, reading, photography and crafty projects. She can't dance and can't sing. She's rubbish at languages, yet could talk for England. She cries at the end of every film she sees. What a saddo.

Beardy (AKA Dad) - Age Unknown - Species Unknown

Dad is a Photographer and a Computer Egghead. He's brilliant at English, Music, Cooking and Photography. He also co-founded Medway Eyes. He plays Guitar, writes songs and sings. He speaks fluent, yet slightly rusty, French. He tells bad jokes and dances like an octopus on roller skates. Weirdo would also like to draw your attention to the fact that "Daddy is big and beardy".
